Summer is all about play, exploration and camps! Creative Discovery Museum combines all three with multiple opportunities for kids ages four through 14! Our science-based camps are filled with activities that bring science alive for children! Our enthusiastic, experienced staff provides a fun-filled, safe environment for children to embrace the summer camp experience.
- Our Friends' Discovery Camp (FDC) are inclusive camps designed for children with special needs and their typically developing peers. One free membership will be awarded per family upon completion of this program. If your family already has a membership, the newly awarded membership will extend the current membership one year beyond the date of completion of this program.
- Our half-day camps are a perfect first camp experience filled with Museum play, theme-related crafts, time in Culinary Corner and much more.
- Our full-day camps include time in the Museum, a mid-week field trip, snacks, group projects and plenty to write home about
AFTERCARE! Can't make it to the Museum by 3:30 p.m.? No problem! We are offering a 5-day aftercare package for $50 for full-day camps only.

Friends' Discovery Camp
$120 (includes a membership); Drop off 8:30 a.m./Pick up 1:30 p.m.
Ages 5-7; June 3-7
We'll explore Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit in our traveling gallery and spend time in Excavation Station. Campers will have fun delving into many different types of dinosaurs through science and art experiences. We will have all of the usual fun experiences of Friends' Discovery Camps including fabulous field trips and fun Big Buddies from UTC.
FDC Science Adventures (SOLD OUT)
Ages 8-11; June 10-14
Explore all things science in this Friends' Discovery Camp, designed to be inclusive for friends with special needs and their typically developing peers. Campers will become scientists as they investigate the science all around them with the help of their UTC Big Buddies. Campers will also embark on several field trips and enjoy unique museum experiences.
FDC Middle School Edition at Scenic City Equestrian
Ages 11-14; July 29-August 2
NEW THIS YEAR! Campers will spend their day at the Scenic City Equestrian facility in Ringgold. Located about 8 miles from downtown Chattanooga, this camp includes daily riding instruction, equestrian care and all of the other benefits of the Museum's inclusive camps including building relationships with Museum staff and their UTC Big Buddies. Preschool Camp: Dinosaurs!

Choo choo! Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit is here for the summer! This week of fun is designed specifically for the preschool dinosaur expert in your family. Campers will explore the different types of dinosaurs including the food they ate and places they lived. Campers will love investigating the life of dinosaurs by making dino art and science projects, exploring Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit and Excavation Station.
Preschool Camp: Be a Superhero of Science!
Become a super scientist! Preschoolers will conduct science experiments as they explore earth science, life science, physical science and chemistry using everyday materials and scientific tools. Seeing our own Museum scientists during our Science Theater shows will be a highlight of this week.

Ages 10 - 14, May 28 - 31; $205/members, $240/non-members
Designed specifically for middle school campers in partnership with Riverbend Festival, this camp gives exclusive, daytime, behind the scenes access to Riverbend stages. Included are special times to interact with the people who make the festival happen including light show designers, sound engineers, stage managers and more. Time performing on stage and the possibility of time with an artist will make for a week of exciting fun.
Heart of the Home Cooking Camp: Middle School Edition
Ages 11 - 14; June 24 - 28; $205/members, $240 non-members
If your middle schooler loves to make and eat culinary treats, this is the camp for them! Campers will cook lunch and eat all snacks and lunches during the week as they learn kitchen skills like how to handle a knife and ow to clean up! Foods prepared will reflect a variety of cultures and campers will bring home a cookbook featuring the recipes. Families can taste the foods at home and share in the camper's creative genius.
Heart of the Home Cooking Camp (SOLD OUT)
Ages 8-11, July 8 - 12; $205/members, $240 non-members
If your child loves to make and eat culinary treats, this is the camp for them! Campers will cook lunch and eat all snacks and lunches during the week as they learn kitchen skills like how to handle a knife and ow to clean up! Camp Do-It-All (SOLD OUT)
Ages 5 - 11; July 15 - 19; $170 members, $205 non-members
If you can't decide which camp week your child will enjoy most because he/she has so many interests, we have a solution. Each day campers will explore different ideas and topics. Campers will tinker as they make and create in our Make It space, explore animals and their habitats using the CDM critters, cook and eat in Culinary Corner, experiment in our interactive Science Theater shows and workshops, and participate in acts of service during this well rounded camp experience.
Be a SUPERHERO of Science (SOLD OUT)
Ages 5 - 11; July 22 - 26; $170 members, $205 non-members
All children are curious about the world around them and this camp offers the opportunity to explore a variety of sciences. The highlight of this camp will be daily labs that connect children with the science found in everyday materials. Your school-aged child will love exploring their world and how it works during this week.
Ages 8 - 11; July 29 - August 2; $205 members, $240 non-members
Incredible design opportunities will be the focus each day in this unique camp. From painting to burning and several techniques in between, campers will experiment with embellishing their clothing as they create different textures using technology. A special art show will be held at the end of this camp so that families can enjoy the amazing designs created by their campers.
